Dog House Hobo blues

Seasick Steve has been around for a long time, hoping trains all over the USA and playing on the sidewalks. He's still going strong today. This is an excellent portrayal of modern blues without that whole dad rock, Stevie Ray Vaughan crap blues. Fuck that. That entire style of blues lacks one thing, soul. Just cus you can shred some licks and make a buck doesn't mean a damn thing when you have no soul behind it. Seasick Steve only has 3 strings on his guitar and can play just as mean. yep.

Delta Momma Blues

Townes Van Zandt was one of the best of his era. This record really shows it off.

High and Lonesome

So I have decided to start a Blog, for the most part it will consist of links to classic records that should never be forgotten. Along with some shameless self promotion for my own music along with other local folk/blues/punk music in the Buffalo area. I'm sure there will be some dirty jokes and drunken ranting posted, really anyone that knows me should expect that type of horse shit. Anyway, this classic by Roscoe Holcomb is one of my favorites, drink up close your eyes and enjoy.

12th fret blues.

There is something about the sound of a piece of metal striking the 12th fret of a guitar. It's almost like a shot of whiskey on a freezing day. The feeling of your balls dropping. The sound of hard times. The sound of utter misery and depression spilling out of the soul. There is no other sound like it.

This record does it like no other.
